Shower Power

Gray Family Shower

I've had a few baby showers, and can't believe how generous and nice everyone is. I have great friends and family who have gone above and beyond, and Rick and I really appreciate it. I am now feeling ready for Baby Boy White to come thanks to all the generous contributions.

First my bestest cousins gave me a shower. They all worked so hard on decorations, invitations, food, and making it all match baby boy's nursery theme: African animal prints. I even had my sweet cousin from St. George come up for it (how nice of her to travel all that way- right?!). This shower was fun because my two cute cousins above are having boys in April and May as well. And our other cousin had her baby boy, Rhett, the day before the shower. Can't wait to get all these baby boys together for a picture! Apparently the Gray side is a baby boy making factory these days :)
I got so many gifts at this shower- I thought I was totally set. Rick was so excited for me to come home and show him every gift. He sat on the couch and watched me pull them all out and tell about them. He would even say funny things like "wow, that's adorable!" Rick? I think he is just as excited as me.

Endeavour Work Shower

My work shower was fun to share with Annaliese. She is the morning teacher in my room that we hired this year, and she is pregnant with a girl- due April 1. It's been fun to have someone to share this journey with. We ask each other every day- "do you have this? How are you feeling?"

I always wanted a diaper cake, and we each got one!! My sweet work friends went above and beyond to make this shower nice- great food, cute decorations, and WAY too many gifts!

I also had an awesome neighborhood shower by my cute friends Ali, Hillary, and Abby. I will post that one next with pictures. Thanks to everyone!

Scene of the crime...

The story goes like this... I am doing my usual morning routine. I have Scout out of the kennel and we're walking to get the mail, letting him run around the yard, etc. In the mailbox I find the Boxes of checks I've been waiting for from Zions Bank that are linked to our main joint account, along with other bills and adds. I set all the mail on top of my car while I put Scout away in his kennel. I then go back in the house and forget about the mail. I drive to work (in the snow storm pictured above). I get to work, only to find the adds on top of my car. THE ADDS!!! Are you kidding me!?! Everything else has fallen off in the drive- the mail key, the bills, and most importantly all the new blank checks!!! I call Rick bawling and he gently tells me I have to go back and look for them. "I'll be late for work! I'll miss lunch!" Crying ensues. I drive home slowly- retracing my tracks in the snow. No luck. I get out and am pacing the driveway hoping they slid off at the beginning. No luck. A very guilty, suspicious looking older construction worker man drives by slowly looking at me. I immediately judge him and consider my checks already spent. He rolls down his window and tells me he found these boxes of checks and bills around the corner in the street in the snow and was looking for the address to return them to on the porch. IT'S A MIRACLE!!! Crying ensues again. I tell him I'm pregnant..I forgot... I left them on my car... I drove to work...I had to drive home... He taps my shoulder and says "Its ok, go back to work. WHAT A NICE MAN!! I drive back to work trying to wipe up my make-up when I stop on the intersection of Shepard Lane and see a glimmer of metal in the intersection- my mail key!!! I found it all.

Little baby boy White, I love you... but I think you are causing my brain some mental cramps! I'm a believer in pregnancy brain.
